The four were caught smuggling betel nuts worth 3 million rupees

According to Keamari district police chief SSP Faizan Ali, four suspects were arrested with betel nuts worth over Rs 3 million, which they were smuggling into Sindh from Balochistan.

SSP Ali said that the police at Mochko checkpoint took action against inter-provincial betel nut smugglers, recovering over three tonnes of betel nuts from a trailer coming from Balochistan.

The officer said the police were offered a bribe of Rs 1.6 million but they refused and registered a case against the suspects identified as Nabi Bakhsh, Yar Khan, Ajab Khan and Baran.

He said that the operation was led by SHO inspector of Mochko police station, Shahid Khan. He also said that 3.36 million tonnes of betel nuts in 280 bags were recovered from the trailer. He added that the betel nut bags were hidden among the cement bags on the trailer.
